New Dubai PCR Test Rule Announced for Those Travelling From the City

Ever since the COVID pandemic hit, airports have been closed around the world to stop the spread of the virus. This has stopped many from returning back to their countries or visiting other places. But since June 23rd, citizens and residents of the UAE have been allowed to travel to countries that are deemed low to moderate risk. Moreover, those traveling from the city to certain countries have to take only the Dubai PCR test.

And since July 7th, Dubai has allowed tourists to visit the city. The city has enforced certain health precautions to ensure the safety of travelers from and to Dubai. Those who fail to abide with said rules will not be allowed to travel from or to the city. Moreover, starting on August 1st, a new rule has been announced for those traveling from Dubai to certain countries.

What is the New Requirement Announced

Starting on August 1st, those traveling from Dubai to the UK, Europe, and other mandated destinations will be required to take a Dubai PCR test before the flight. This is to ensure the safety of the passengers traveling to said countries.

The Dubai PCR test has to be taken at least 96 hours before the date of the flight and only those with a negative result will be permitted to travel. Those who do not provide a valid negative Dubai PCR test certificate will not be allowed to travel.

New Requirement Announced

This requirement is part of the precautions taken by the city to ensure a safe flight and to avoid any spread of the virus. Other precautions include constant sanitation of hands, wearing masks at all times, and social distancing. It is also recommended to be at the airport at least 3 hours before flight time. Be aware that you will not be allowed to enter the airport if your flight isn’t in the next 4 hours.

This requirement has come out after another requirement that has come out recently for those visiting Dubai. People from selected countries are required to take an additional COVID-19 Dubai PCR test upon arrival. After the test is taken, the traveler will be self-isolated until the results are out.
